Just in time for Spring, Weymouth Landing has a new hotspot. Passport is a new restaurant launched by the same group that brought the wildly successful Fat Cat restaurant to Quincy. Owner Neil Kiley and Executive Chef Tom Coleman teamed up again, this time bringing an international flair to the South Shore.

The theme behind the aptly named restaurant is “a culinary trip around the world.” The menu is built on international small plate offerings with dishes from all corners of the globe. From Oven Roasted Olives to Short Rib Bolognese to Cambodian Duck Breast Salad and even a Korean dish call Be bim bop, Passport’s menu is every bit delicious as it is diverse. If some of the menu items seem a little too daring for your tastes, you’ll be happy to know that there is something for everyone including Lobster Risotto and bone-in Filet Mignon.

The menu is divided into four sections: Teasers, Tasters, Smalls and Shares. Dishes range from $3 teasers to $25 “Share” plates which are about the size of an average entree. Passport is not simply about bringing a diverse menu to its customers, it is really about bringing a genuine high quality experience that you won’t find anywhere else on the South Shore. The kitchen is a 100% scratch kitchen, meaning all ingredients are prepared fresh in house daily. It is easy to recognize the amount of research, care and passion that goes into every dish.

(Passport is currently the only restaurant on the South Shore where you’ll find wine on tap.) They also carry a very diverse collection of craft liquors.

Passport officially opened this past Thursday. Their regular hours will be from 4pm to 1am Tuesday through Saturday. If you’re looking for a fun new dining experiences, get on down there and try it for yourself!

Enjoyed the article and look forward to enjoying the restaurant.
One note: “your” should read “you’re” in the closing sentence.

Place is a gem. I really enjoyed it. My wife and I were just amazed by the small plates (tapas) menu and although they were still “working through things with the beer and wine selection”, it was quite good, I’d give it a solid 4 out of 5.

My wife had just come back from France on a trip and was interested in trying the cassoulet, which she’d just had a couple days prior in France. She laughed after the first bite and said… “wow, this might be better. if not just as good.”

    So there ya go.
