The Patriot Ledger Celebrates 175th Anniversary

On January 7th, 2012 the Patriot Ledger celebrated its 175th Anniversary. On Thursday, June 28th, a ceremony commemorating the milestone will be held at Quincy City Hall at 12:30. There ill be a brief statement by Quincy Mayor Tomas Koch as well as other festivities including a horse drawn carriage with President John Quincy Adams and ledger newsboys selling the days ledger for 5 cents.

Governor Deval Patrick is also expected to declare it Community Newspaper Day in honor of the Ledger’s 175th anniversary.
