Award Winning South Shore Schools (updated)

It’s long been known that the south shore has some of the best public and private schools in the state of Massachusetts. Below is a collection of the various awards and recognitions that South Shore Schools have earned in years past. We will do out best to keep this list updated as the new rankings come out for 2012 and beyond.

The Program sets a standard of excellence for all schools striving for the highest level of achievement. The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program is part of a larger U. S. Department of Education effort to identify and disseminate knowledge about best school leadership and teaching practices. “NEWSWEEK’S America’s Best High Schools “highlights the best 1,000 public high schools in the nation—the ones that have proven to be the most effective in turning out college-ready grads. The list is based on six components provided by school administrators: graduation rate (25 percent), college matriculation rate (25 percent), AP/IB/AICE tests taken per student (25 percent), average SAT/ACT scores (10 percent), average AP/IB/AICE scores (10 percent), and AP courses offered  per student(5 percent).”
